Stertil-Koni mobile column vehicle lifts in full view on a popular Dutch news programme - showing how two Dutch engine vehicle manufacturers are helping their customers transition with the new generation of CO2 neutral vehicles.
Electric Vehicles
Quick summary of the news item. The first company Emoss Mobile Systems are removing the diesel powered engines, transmissions and diesel tanks and replacing with “super-powered” battery-powered electric engines.
The demand for these electric powered trucks comes primarily from countries such as, Sweden, Germany, Finland and Switzerland. The Director of the company says that for example the German government subsidises 80% of the new value of these vehicles, compared to for example the Dutch government: "You’re only talking about a couple of thousand Euros in The Netherlands”.
Hydrogen Buses and Trucks
The second company Hyzon Motors Europe is building H2O engines for refuse trucks for companies in for example, Scotland UK, as well as buses, coaches and heavy commercial vehicles for the European market.
Conclusion: likely that both technologies will coexist- electric for intercity and short distances and H2O for the longer hauls with hydrogen tanks that have a range of up to 600 km.
Both manufacurers in this news item are customers of Stokvis Equipment, our Dutch sales organisation.
